For our activity we chose to interview three people who had read the book "The Treasure Box". One person loved it, another who took it for granted and one person who absolutely hated it. It takes people from multiple timelines including 2 from World War 2 and one from modern day . We were interested in what other people thought of the book.
We created a film using the Ipad and the green screen app. Karol (Charlotte) interviewed 3 people on their thoughts about the book "The Treasure Box". One person who enjoyed the book, one person who hated the book and another who took the book for granted. These people shared their opinions on the book. At the end of the interview, Karol revealed that she was the author of the book. After the filming we used the green screen app to edit the film and put it together. It was uploaded and voila! all our hard work was done and completed!
We have created an interview based on the enjoyable book, "The Treasure Box." We have interviewed for three different points of view: Peter, Peter's father and a refugee. The characters emotions change throughout the interview which creates a new story. This interview will hopefully give you an insight into the story and how different characters have different perspectives.
Our journey:
This opportunity to create a video was a great experience for us as we got to learn about exploring and digging into the inside of a story. We also got to understand the detail and effort that goes into the preparation of creating a video. This was a great team work task that we completed together and we hope that everyone enjoyed.
SERENA, CHLOE AND I CREATED BOTH A THING LINK AND AN IMAGE OF A LINDEN TREE. OUR IMAGE CONSIST OF A SMALL BRANCH WITH LEAVES ATTACHED TO IT, ON THE LEAVES ARE STORY POINTS. ON THE THING LINK, THERE IS AN IMAGE OF A TREE. WHEN YOU HOVER WITH YOUR MOUSE OVER ONE OF THE DOTS A STORY POINT WILL POP UP. WE WERE INSPIRED TO DO THIS AFTER READING A BOOK 'THE TREASURE BOX' BY MARGRET WILD
Our Journey Serena, Chloe and I are really happy with our end result, but it wasn’t always like that. We were first going to use a bonsai plant and write story points on fake leaves and record a video of it. But when that backfired we couldn’t do that any more. So with some of our librarians help we created a thinglink and a photo of a branch with leaves. There were many bumps in the road but we finally got there and are satisfied with our work. We hope you enjoy it.
We read the text ‘The Treasure Box’ and were interested in how people would of responded to the experience of having their home town bombed. We went on a process of mining and created a news report product
After many years of living in another country, Peter comes back to the Linden tree to retrieve his father's prized book, but soon discovers that the book is gone! Peter goes on a journey to find the missing book. Do you want to miss out on the best book in the world?
Our group had a lot of fun recording our interview. Overall, I think we did a really good job answering the questions and telling the story in the answers.
We had the option to use a green screen or iMovie. Our group decided to use IMovie. We thought it was the perfect fit for what our idea was.
We now had to record our questions and answers. This took a few weeks to be finished. After the recordings were finished, we needed to make it into a movie using iMovie.
Our movie was finally finished, but we had to upload the video to the photo app. The ipad that we were using didn’t have enough storage, so we deleted some of the questions and answers video. Doing this, we didn’t know that deleting the videos means would remove the scene on our movie! Luckily, we had only deleted a few videos and took us half a lesson to record the same scenes. We successfully recorded the videos and inserted them into our movie.
We now had to export the movie to the photo app. This time, we deleted other videos. We now successfully moved it to our photos and got it uploaded to the google drive and finally completed our task.
Walking to who knows where! To escape. Wishing that a destination would only come to you. Is that to much to ask? To find a home? I guess finding a life long friend was the gift I got. My Partner and I have created a simplified stop motion about a friendship Peter developed during his hard journey as a refugee. We hope you enjoy as you join Peter and Christina on their journey.
When looking for a group we eventually found out that Brandon and I had similar ideas. So we thought, why not work together? We had the idea to create a short simplified stopmotion of the Treasure Box by Margaret Wild.
After loads of complications in the making of the film we eventually witnessed a miracle of completing what felt like an impossible task. We are so glad we got to share the magical but slightly humerous piece of art we spent our time on!
We hope you laugh a little watching our strange but magical creation!
Peter's village suffered terribly during the conflict that forced them to leave their village. They were just one family in one village. That got me thinking. What does a war cost in lives and dollars? Who pays?
6 News is a made up T.V show that Ava and Abby came up with.
Tonight we have two very special guests from the book "The Treasure Box" here for a quick interview about their story. The first visitor is the little girl who helped Peter (The main character in the story) dig up the box from the old linden tree. After the break we will have a surprise guest. So watch to find out what happens in the life of "The Treasure Box" from two different points of view.
Phillip and I had decided to do Powtoon as we wanted to do something different. The summary of our presentation is all about World War 2 and the rise of Adolf Hitler. We thought about the book The Treasure Box and we decided to do WW2,~ as we thought the book is about the Nazi’s and WW2.
We hope you enjoy our Powtoon presentation about World War 2!
Our Journey
At first we (Philip and Ivan) didn’t know what to do, I thought we should've done a Google Presentation because it was really easy but Philip was excited to do a Powtoon as it would be more unique and complex. So in the end we decided with Powtoon as it was a good presentation tool.On our journey, it was kind of hard as the program didn't cooperate as much as we thought it would , we didn't have much experience with it. We persevered and after that it was really easy as we were more familiar with it . We think the hardest part of our work will be the editing and also finding out how to do things. We shared the roles, Phillip did all the writing and Ivan did the research..
We used the program called "Floorplanner" to create Peter’s house. We did this because we wanted to show people how we thought the house looked before it was bombed and set on fire. It was a bit difficult because floorplanner only has modern furniture, but we think the house looks old enough, and now, it’s ready for you to look at!
In the process we had to explore the floorplanner catalogue to find the correct furniture of the time. Of course this task was hard, as floorplanner uses modern day details for blueprints. Though our task was a struggle, we managed to push through, and we hope you like it!
We created a “movie” about the journey of young Peter and his father, made with Minecraft! Just like the book, it has all the key locations in the story. It took us a while to figure out how we could possibly make a movie off an Ipad... We hope you enjoy this mini-movie of The Treasure Box!

We created an artwork by using paper, paint and a canvas. On the leaves we wrote the main story points, we have exactly 28 story points on a printed linden tree. We noticed the writing was Italian and the birds on top represent the people and their long and miserable journey and the one odd bird out which is gold, which represents Peter.
After reading the ‘Treasure Box’ , we decided to take an artistic approach. During our journey, we experienced some difficulties but were pleased with our end result as we improvised a lot. Our original design was simple as it was supposed to capture the beauty of the linden tree. As we got further into our journey, everything was well, until we found out, that the leaves we had organised for the linden tree were unable to be written on. So we decided to print some leaves out and write on them to give them the real look. Then we needed to figure out how to sketch the detailed linden tree. Mistaken for scrap paper, our linden was thrown away. So instead of sketching the detailed tree, we settled on printing the original picture from the actual book. We attached a few birds to symbolize freedom and added more trees coloured in gold. And we also printed out an Italian paper featuring the experience of World War 2 and drew a cottage onto it. So in conclusion, our simple artistic approach, turned into a complex and what we think is a beautiful collage.
The Interview of Characters from"The Treasure Box"
By Filip, Ayden, Joseph
Our group has decided to do an interview. We will be pretending to be characters from the book ‘The Treasure Box’ and we will take turns interviewing each other. In the first interview Peter will be interviewed, then Peter’s dad will be interviewed and in our final interview we interview Peter’s mother!
Each interview consists of 5 questions and in total there are 3 interviews.
Our group had a lot of fun recording our interview. Overall, I think we did a really good job answering the questions and telling the story in the answers.

Peter is a boy from a book called The Treasure Box written by Margaret Wild and illustrated by Freya Blackwood. We wanted to imagine just how scared and terrified he felt so we did that by writing down what we imagined him to be feeling, in a diary. The diary starts from when Peter goes to school and is still living in his house to when he is trudging alone along the side of the road thinking about what might happen in his unknown future.
Our Journey:
To write these diary entries we needed to know about the book ‘The Treasure Box’ to be able to have our diary in sequence of what happened in the book and of what the characters did. First we discussed the book in a lot of detail and tried to dig deeper in what the meaning of the book was. We read the book numerous times in order to pick up small details that might have helped us write the diary. We discussed what words would fit where and what words didn’t fit. If we didn’t understand what a word meant we would look it up on the internet and if we had used a word too many times we would look it up in a thesaurus.
The Treasure Box was written by Margaret Wild and was illustrated by Freya Blackwood. This book had a lot of emotional depth, we believe that the story is set during the time of World War 2. I am interested in history and this is why I decided to write a short newspaper article about the atomic bomb. I have taken pleasure in researching and writing about the atom bomb and hope you learn something from my article.
While writing this article, I had to do extensive research and obtain wide range of information. I have also found different ways to enhance the presentation of this digital work and create this article with the theme of a newspaper. When I had made a mistake with the size of the text I had to adjust. When there was too much writing on a page, I had to adapt. When I had to change various things in the article, I had to modify my writing. By the end of this, I was left satisfied with my work and I hope that it fills its expectations.
